Dear Friend of Wilderness Awareness School,

Have you ever received a gift that impacted who you are today? What allowed that gift to happen? Imagine giving something that allows a friend, a loved one, or even a stranger to experience a positive, transformational experience.

Your generosity during our spring Get Outside campaign will help make this a reality. Last year we gave nearly $60,000 in scholarships. We need your support to ensure next year's students get the same opportunity.

Wilderness Awareness has had an amazing impact on my teenagers.
Transitioning into young adulthood is tough. WAS gave my children a safety net
during this very turbulent time by providing time, space, and structure
for a tight knit community to form and grow.

— Renee, mother of 16 & 18 year old students, scholarship recipients

We currently have more scholarship requests than we can fulfill. Your support will help us meet this rising demand, and to ensure that our programs are accessible to many who could not otherwise afford to participate.

Without the generous scholarship we received our son would not have been able to participate in the program. We live in a busy city with very little wilderness, and for our son to be able to explore and learn in nature with the guidance of instructors enriched
his life tremendously. Thank you for making it possible for us to participate!

— Parents of Rio, scholarship recipient

Our goal for our spring Get Outside campaign is $35,000. Please give your generous donation today to help bring the healing tonic of nature connection to more kids of all ages.

With gratitude,

Warren Moon

Executive Director

Wilderness Awareness School is one of those vital organizations that gives me hope in this bittersweet world. They don't play by mainstream rules; they commit to their holistic, nature stained values, and we are all better for it. Discovering WAS years ago felt so right that it was like a homecoming. Kaveh was immediately met, seen, and encouraged to grow on multiple fronts.

—Aaron Swartzman, father of Kaveh (age 11), scholarship recipient
