Join the women of Wilderness Awareness School
for a weekend of fun, storytelling, and primitive skills!
We will explore the woods and rivers of the Snoqualmie Valley, seeking
the lessons offered by nature in the moment, with a focus on tracking
and edible plants.
We will travel to a local sandbar to explore the lives of mammals,
birds, and amphibians through the art of tracking. During the weekend
we will also work together to harvest and prepare local edible plants
in season following “primitive” preparations as well as
creating gourmet fare; sustainable harvest techniques, and toxic plant
I.D. also included.
This course is designed to adjust to the experience and interests of
the participants, and there will be opportunities to play with fire,
smash rocks, and get unreasonably muddy!
