This hands-on class introduces survival skills through the mysteries of fire by friction. Topics may include but are not limited to: at least three different fire by friction methods, identification of the tree species which are most useful for survival, how to make fire under wet Fall conditions in the Northwest, building successful fire structure from available materials, emergency five-minute fire exercises.

We will also cover finding and preparing food during this time of year, and the basics of stone tool construction to enhance our wilderness survival abilities. Everyone will go home with a bow-drill kit they have created.
